Due to their permanence and
individuality fingerprints have been used as a positive form
of identification for the past century. Although many new forms
of
forensic identification have been researched and developed over
the years the fact remains that no two fingerprints are identical.
As a result, fingerprint evidence remains crucial in cases of mistaken
identity and in situations involving latent
prints developed on
evidence, the identification of which can place a given individual
at a particular scene. Fingerprint Science is a complex and ever-changing
field due to the development of new processes, procedures and
case law. Throughout my career I have developed my skills as a fingerprint technician, examiner and instructor. I also have been testifying as a fingerprint expert in Superior Court since 1980.
