The International Association
for Identification is a worldwide organization
comprised of sworn and civilian professionals who are involved
in all aspects of forensic
identification including such areas as fingerprint science, crime
scene investigation, DNA technology, and forensic photography just
to name a few.
The I.A.I. offers certification programs for professionals working
in these varied areas. Rigorous standards must be met, in terms
of education and experience,
in order to be certified by the I.A.I. One such certification program is
the Crime Scene Certification program. This program involves
all aspects of crime scene investigation including evidence recognition,
documentation, preservation
and interpretation. The highest attainable certification level in this tri-level
program is the Senior Crime Scene Analyst certification.
As a crime scene investigator, I attained my initial certification as a Senior
Crime Scene Analyst in 1990 and
have been re-certified as required by the I.A.I. up to and including the
present time.
By maintaining my certification I can assure my clients that
the services I provide will be of the highest quality, meeting
the most up-to-date technical
and legal
standards.
